The protection and health of guests and staff have always been top priorities for the youth hostels. We follow the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute as well as the regulations of the health authorities to prevent the spread and transmission of diseases. We pay attention to all prescribed hygiene measures in all areas of our youth hostels.
Behind the scenes we have prepared everything to make you feel comfortable and safe.
Everything worth knowing for your safe stay with us
Our guests are asked to keep a safe distance, wash their hands regularly and observe the cough and sneeze label. If you feel unwell or are considering an illness, consult your doctor for safety reasons and have yourself tested if necessary before checking into a youth hostel. Guests who experience symptoms of illness during their stay are asked to stay in their room and call a doctor via the reception desk. In this way you will contribute to the general safety and protection of your fellow human beings. The country-specific regulations must be observed. In the public areas of the youth hostel you are obliged to wear a FFP2 Mask..
For overnight stays in the youth hostels in Baden-Württemberg, the 2G-Plus rule applies ( Admission for vaccinated or recovered persons only with negative rapid or PCR test.). A current test certificate must be presented daily.
Exempt from the testing requirement are:
- Persons with booster vaccination (for boostered persons there is no time specification how long ago the booster vaccination must have been given),
- Persons whose full vaccination protection was not longer than 3 months ago,
- Recoverd Persons whose infection can be proven to have occurred no more than six months ago (this applies to anyone with a convalescent record, record expires after 3 months).
All adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 who have not yet been fully immunized will have the opportunity to gain access to all 2G facilities via rapid daily antigen testing.
Youth Hostel employees
Our employees comply with distance regulations and strictly follow official government guidelines. They are comprehensively trained on the current hygiene guidelines. All service personnel wear mouth and nose protection in public areas and in contact with guests.
At the reception desk, the distance regulations must be observed. Reception areas are (as far as possible) equipped with a plexiglass partition to further minimize the risk of infection. Guests are requested to pay as cashless as possible. Guests will receive disinfected room cards and disinfectant is available at the reception. After check-out, guests are asked to leave the hostel directly, unfortunately, no further stay is possible and luggage can´t be left in the hostel.
Disinfectants can be found in the entrance area of the dining room. Food and drinks are only served by the staff. You may have to reckon with a reduced selection of offers. However, you can still rely on quality, regional products and healthy food. In order to be able to offer our guests the highest level of quality and safety in terms of catering, all stages of preparation in the kitchens are checked and monitored by professional control systems. The adherence to the applicable distance rules and the maximum occupancy of rooms and tables is guaranteed.
Rooms, public areas
There are special checklists and checklists for employees in all the different areas of the youth hostels (rooms, common rooms, leisure facilities), so that our high standards of quality can be fulfilled in the long term. Beyond the fulfilment of legal obligations, the youth hostels also work with their own quality standards, which are regularly analysed and adapted.
All rooms and common areas are cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis. Compliance with the applicable distance rules and the maximum occupancy of rooms and tables is ensured. Please note any guidance systems in the hostel.
Bookings for groups and seminar groups
We work closely with our customers to handle all necessary requirements and changes to group and seminar bookings on a case-by-case basis. Our hostel team will assist you in planning to meet your current needs, including moving event dates to a different time. Please contact the hostel in question to discuss further details.
In all public areas and everywhere where a minimum distance of 1.5 meters cannot be maintained, masks (medical mask or FFP2 mask) are mandatory for the protection of our guests and employees.
The youth hostel has enough masks available. Guests can get them (for a fee) at the reception.
We collect this data in accordance with Art. 9 DSGVO (special categories) to ensure the protection of our employees and guests against the concrete threat of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The legal basis for this is your consent in accordance with Art. 9 para. 2 a DSGVO.
The data will be kept confidential in order to use it, if necessary, in the case of an infection to trace the chain of infection. If there is no suspected case of infection, we will destroy your contact information four weeks after your stay without prior use.
The minimum distance and the formation of queues are controlled by spacing lines on the floor, a wayfinding system and, as far as spatially possible in the youth hostel, a one-way street system.
A stand with disinfectant is available for our guests in front of the entrance and the food counter. In the youth hostels, where the public toilets are available, there is sufficient hand washing powder and disposable towels.
Single guests can still book a bed in a shared room. In all houses you also have the possibility to book a single or double room.
If your room does not have its own toilet and bathroom, we try to assign a separate bathroom to each room. Usually there is at least one washbasin in each room.
The Corona Protection Ordinance of the state of Baden-Württemberg has set higher standards of hygiene and infection protection for the accommodation of guests. As a result, the capacity of the youth hostels had to be reorganized in accordance with the official requirements in order to guarantee the appropriate spacing rules. In addition, we have established extensive hygiene measures for the youth hostels, which include a limitation of the number of people in the rooms. In addition, the provisions of the Corona Protection Ordinance on the number of persons permitted at gatherings and events apply.
Unfortunately, we are currently unable to provide you with access to all areas of our hostels. For example, we cannot open children's play areas or exercise rooms for hygienic reasons, as we cannot be sure that something is not put in the mouth and that the rules of distance are observed. We try to secure playground equipment, but this is not always possible, for example, with foosball tables. In the dining room we try to offer you the quality you are used to, but this is organized in a slightly different way (see dining rooms). Public sanitary areas are also only limited usable, here there are individual solutions in every house.
Of course our guests still receive bed linen. Towels can be rented from us as usual, depending on the booking they may still be included. All our bedclothes and also the towels are washed with cooking linen, so that the security of absolute purity is very high. We ask that the towels are always dried and stored after use with consideration for the other guests, so please do not leave them hanging in "public" areas.
Not every sneeze or cold is a major problem. Here we ask you to observe the "sneezing label" - turn away from other guests, keep the crook of your arm in front of your mouth and nose and use disposable handkerchiefs, which you can dispose of directly in a trash can afterwards. If you feel unwell before your stay and have signs of corona disease, please contact us by phone and do not arrive for the time being (see travel cancellation insurance).
If you should show symptoms of an illness on site or if you feel unwell, please go directly to your room and, if possible, call the reception. We will then gladly organize the necessary support for you. Especially in these times, we ask you to remain sensitive to your own health and always to that of your fellow human beings, who in this case are also our guests and employees.
Should a case occur, we will first separate the affected guest and, if necessary, people who have been in direct contact with the guest in their rooms. At the same time, we will inform the responsible public health department. As a rule, this office then takes over the further coordination of the event. In such a case, the youth hostel itself and its staff, as well as the crisis team of the national association which is then called up, will work in close cooperation with the coordinating authority and at the same time try to make the stay of all guests in the hostel as comfortable as possible.
If a youth hostel does not open or close on the specified date, we will contact you and agree with you on how to proceed. Either we move your stay to another hostel that is open or you arrive at a later date. If you cannot or do not want to make a decision so quickly, we will gladly issue you a voucher which you can use for 3 years. If none of these options is suitable for you, we will retransfer any advance payments you may have made back to you.
Due to the current situation, various shortened cancellation periods apply to our guest groups. If you cancel outside of these deadlines and we cannot re-allocate the capacities, we unfortunately have to charge you a cancellation fee according to our terms and conditions. We recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance. This will usually reimburse you the cancellation costs in case of illness proven by a medical certificate. If necessary, please check before taking out the insurance whether it is also valid in case of a pandemic and thus also for diseases caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
We try to prepare all our guests sensitively for the current peculiarities and we are sure that all travelers will also show great understanding for the necessary consideration. Should a guest, however, repeatedly violate this rule, we reserve the right to terminate the stay prematurely. In the end, our goal is to ensure that all guests and staff in our youth hostels have the best possible time and that their stay is safe and pleasant. Experience community - by far still the best!
We look forward to seeing you and wish you a pleasant stay.
